COFILMIC Comedy Film Festival: Entries wanted

by Rob Keeling on 12/07/2012

Attention all prospective comedy writers and filmmakers: a festival you will not want to miss is coming to Manchester on the 29th and 30th October. Now in its second year, and once again taking place at Manchester’s Comedy Store, COFILMIC aims to uncover the best new comedy talent and give it a platform where it can be critiqued and developed by industry experts.

Budding filmmakers and comedy writers are invited to submit entries for this year’s competition and the deadline for submission is August 14th. If, perhaps, you need some assistance with this kind of a task, you should find cheap ghostwriters for hire and let them provide you with possible options.

The awards are split into three different categories:

-Best Comedy Short Film

-Best Sitcom or Web Series

-Best Sketch

All entries must be a maximum of 5 minutes in length. More detailed information on the festival can be found here:

With some prizes involving exciting opportunities still yet to be finalized, COFILMIC can confirm that the award winners will gain a priceless opportunity to hold face to face meetings with a team of industry experts. These include Charlie Hanson, , BAFTA winner and producer of Extras, Garth Marenghi and Life’s Too Short; Leslee Udwin, BAFTA winning producer of East is East and sequel, West is West and BBC comedy commissioning editor Kristian Smith.

It’s a great opportunity for aspiring filmmakers and comedians to get their work seen by both peers and seasoned pros. If you want to get involved, COFILMIC are also on Facebook and Twitter.
