Season 2 of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, starring the splendidly awesome Steve Buscemi, versatile Michael Shannon and brave Kelly Macdonald, hits the shops next week on Blu-ray and DVD alongside a shiny twin pack featuring Seasons 1 and 2.

If you don’t know what it’s all about, here’s a little catch-up;

Nucky Thompson (Buscemi) is part-politician, part-crook ruling Atlantic City during 1920s America. Season Two returns to the decadent city in 1921 where fortunes have soared in the wake of Prohibition and Nucky Thompson is paying a steep price for wielding ultimate power in “The World’s Playground”. Though the 1920 election is over, Nucky finds himself the target of a federal investigation for vote tampering – and an insurrection by those he counted among his closest allies. If you like a lot of backstabbing and criminality then you probably already love Boardwalk Empire.
